This picture was taken from this website: http://dead-cockroach.xanga.com/691798365/the-puppy-mill-link-exchange-project/
And it really saddens me how some people with no love for animals simply see this purely as a business transaction. Literally it is a factory to churn out puppies for sale. The BIG difference is that this factory is producing living things that have feelings and emotion. Unlike an ipod or a car coming out of a factory.
That is why I advocate to a lot of people not to support purchasing puppies from puppy farms in Pasir Ris or commercialised pet shops as most of these places are merely profit driven and get their puppies from puppy mills like these. Plenty of times these puppies are not well treated or bred and a lot of them are inbred leading to genetical defects. Those are the ones that U will never see as they are killed off. Many dog owners don’t know this horrible side of commercial pet shops.
Even puppies on display in brightly lit pet shops in shopping centres of puppy farms are not kept the proper way. Cages often have grills as the base so that their pee & poop will just seep down to keep the cage cleaner. However, these grills are not good for the formation of puppies paws & legs, and problems resulting from this will only show much later in the puppies life. Hence, sometimes paying a slightly higher price to get from a more reliable pet shop or home breeder is the bettter option. As those are the people who truly love animals and will treat them like their own “child” until they’re sold (hopefully to responsible pet owers). The place where I got Mika is one such shop. I was impressed how they mother all their puppies and keep them in a seperate room not displying them outside for the puplic to see. The shop will only take out a puppy to show you only when U are a serious buyer. This shop also takes care of unwanted dogs & cats and the resident pets in the shop look like they were rescued. The proof of a true animal lover.
I hope that this can help change minds of people and make the lives of other living things a better one other than us humans.
Be an animal lover like me!
XOXO

Hello!
The time has come again to watch out for the New Face girls in the papers & on the web! It’s one of my favorite annual competitions to watch! And this year’s batch is really good! I’ve a few favorites in mind already!
As I was in the New Face competition back in 2002, they decided to interview some of their alumni to find out how this competition has changed our lives. I must say that it was the competition that pushed me into the modelling world and help me gain more confidence in myself. And thru modelling, the money earned helped me to be a more independent person as I told my mum to stop giving me pocket money and just pay for my university education. I used the money earned to support myself thru’ university and this also matured me more.
Good luck girls! Hope U will have a lot of fun just like I did!
XOXO

Hello!
I just did an interview for The New Paper yesterday as the new face for the Olay White Radiance series. I love this new serum that’s newly launched! It absorbs very quickly into my skin as if my skin is so thirsty that it “sucks” it up & I feel that my skin naturally glows more!
Will update with more photos of the shoot & interviews soon!
Also, check out this Sunday’s The New Paper for an update for this year’s & past year’s (including me) New Paper New Face girls! 🙂
XOXO

I saw how easy it is to make Apple Foldovers on Asian Food Channel, so I decided to give it a try! And indeed it is easy!
The secret to the apple stuffing is to add a dollop of butter when you’re cooking the apples over the stove!
How to Make:
- 5 small Royal Gala Apples (chopped)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp of cinnamon (I like a stronger taste)
- 1 TBSP of water
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 a lemon (juiced)
Simmer the above ingredients for about 20 min till apples are soft & brown & thick.
Add
- 1TBSP of flour
- 1 dollop of butter (around 1 TBSP)
- 1 tsp of vanilla essence
Stir until mixture thickens.
Cut 25cmx25cm pre-made puff pastry sheets into quaters.
Fill each quater with 1TBSP of apple stuffing.
Seal edges of puff pastry with egg wash. Press down & use back of the knife to “cut” in semi circular patterns on the edges.
Bake in oven at 175 degree celsius for 25 minutes.
This is a very easy to make desert for any occasion!

Hello!
This is a good alternative to Marutama at Central for ramen! It’s Hokkaido style ramen so it’s slightly different to the choices U get at Marutama.
I had the Spicy Miso Ramen & it’s was pretty good!
Rating: 8/10
It’s one of the better ramen I had in Singapore but I still like the chicken balls nutty flavoured one in Marutama.
However, the ramen egg-wise the Marutama’s one is better.
Rating: 6.5/10
All in all, I will go back to this place to try the other ramen esp the Special Pork ramen! Do go early as the queue forms quite a bit during peak meal hours!

This lil restaurant is tucked in one corner of the mall near the short escalators. Happy eating!

Hello!
Had another short break in Tioman AGAIN! Went back there to log more dives & eat the SATAY!!!! Love the satay there! It’s succulent, juicy & has the right amout of sweetness to it.
So far this satay is my all time favourite!
Rating: 9/10 (-1 because of the few plates we had over the few nights there one plate was not as soft & juicy)
The other thing that I missed so so much in Tioman was it’s Sambal Stingray. The stingray is delivered fresh daily to the BBQ seafood place and it always comes, soft and slightly burnt with no fishy smell cos it’s so fresh!
Rating: 8/10
Ok, the main reason we went back to Tioman is to dive but I was sooooo craving to eat the food I had the last time. 😛
This time we tried a new item on the menu – Otah. This Otah is a speciality from Muah and I loved it!
Sorry for the bad photo but it’s the only one I have of the Otah. It tastes a lot better than the photo! heh…
Rating: 8/10
Tho’ I don’t drink beer because I’m allergic to it, I thought this sign looks damn retro!
Caught this beautiful sunset in Tioman.
And that’s just me strolling on the beach after a day of diving! Dived a total of 9 times over 2.5 days there! So Happy!
BTW, all these yummy food is at Paya Beach Resort, Tioman. It’s cheap & good!
XOXO

Hello!
This is the durian place that I’ve been raving about – great for its butter durian. I’ve been frequenting this place so often! This place is mid priced but provides great quality! A lot cheaper than those in Geylang.
Although the durian season is coming to an end, U still can get delectable pastries from this shop as well.
Love the creamy and rich yellow flesh of the Butter Durian! And the teeny weeny seed holding the flesh… Mmmmm…
If you’re still craving for durians, do try this place!
