Hehe…. I hope this means my new year has more of these to come! Quite a nice way to start my year!

Just wanna wish everyone a great 2008 ahead with plenty of happy moments to come!

Back to filling in the Q&A!…

New Year Resolutions…

The year is coming to an end and its time me to recap the year and have more resolutions for the new year.
This year has been a really eventful one for me and it literally flew by in a blink of an eye. It felt just like yesterday when I went for the Miss Singapore auditions early March and I remember so so clearly that I literally rushed from the airport the minute I touched down from my turnaround flight to go to Mediacorp for the audition. I was in the last batch of girls to be “screened” that night and I did it with Christabel. My first impression of her was like “Wow! She’s super tall and skinny! Die lah! I’ll look so short n chubby beside her…”

I met YY, Xuemei and Celest that same night too! Never did I expect to come such a long way after that fateful day. It has been a whirlwind of a year especially when I got the chance to represent Singapore in Mexico. That experience itself is priceless. I must say that this year has brought a lot of changes to my life. It’s not a turning point but I grew as a person. Being alone in Mexico made me a lot more mature and realised that people relationships are extremely important. I used to think I just do my work well and that’s it! But doing your work well is one thing, being recognised for it is another.

But I still believe in karma… do good things and good things will come your way eventually. That’s why I really try not to do the things that people do that pisses me off. Say for example really bad road manners, or in general bad manners. The other day I was holding the door open for this mother pushing a pram and all she did was to stare blankly at me as if I am supposed to do that. I’m not asking her to thank me profusely but a simple smile of appreciation would be nice. But all she did was walk thru, looked at me indifferently and went on with her life as if I was her maid! *sigh*

Sometimes I just wished everyone was nicer to the rest of the world and not so self centered.

ok, back to my new year’s resolutions….

1. Go for more yoga consistently
2. Wake up earlier in the mornings (I’m a late sleeper and riser)
3. Take up acting/Chinese lessons (I’m determined to master the Chinese language)
4. Learn a new language
5. Tidy up my mess (that should be ongoing! *haha*)
6. Appear in a Channel 8 drama serial ( I really really wanna be in a Channel 8 drama, whether I make it or not, well at least I tried!)
7. Eat less chocolates/ improve my diet
8. Decorate my new home! (can’t wait to move in when it’s ready… supposed to be ready sometime mid 2008)
9. Adopt a dog (if time permits)
10. Make the “Preserve Planet Earth 2008” project a success
11. Blog about my Ms Universe experience before the next pageant!!! (then it’s stale…)

Hmm…. I’ll add on more before the year ends…

Time for everyone to think how the year has went by and how we can make next year a better one!

Happy New Year!!!

XOXO
Jess

Wan Bao

I’m in today’s issue of Wanbao!! For 2008 make up special!

Good tips on how next season’s make up style is more emphasis on our eyes and playing down on lips. Majorie Teo taught me some great tips too! Like for applying make up on lower lashes she uses a tissue to “protect” my lower lids so that mascara won’t smudge onto my skin. And applying blush on certain areas of our faces does give a “slimming” effect! Very good for our Asian faces with not so strong bone structure!

Merry Christmas!!!

Had a busy week celebrating Christmas with family and friends… really fun to catch up and be jolly! Hope I didn’t put on too much weight with all the eating and eating… But it’s the time to be merry and enjoy with your loved ones so why not?? More yoga for me after… heheh…

Some photos here… with Baby Mikaela who’s only 2 months old!!! There’s more photos to come! Esp baby Leeann’s First month’s photos!! Time really flies!

Star Awards

Attended the Star Awards last Sunday and it was a very surreal experience… I’ve always watched it on TV to see how glamorous and stylish the stars are and secretly supported a couple of actors/actresses. But this time round I’m one of the attendees and I was soaking this experience up!

I have to say that the feeling of seeing everything live is a whole lot different! U can feel the excitement and nerves in the air!

I have to pen this down… don’t mind my drooling here please! Fiona Xie, Fann Wong, Jesseca Liu & Ong Ai Lin look simply stunning in person! Man… If I were a guy… I shan’t continue this sentence! *haha* Trust me, coming from a girl here, I think they’re the epitome of great Asian looks! Nuff’ said… Here’s some pictures I took that night. Not many tho!

I love my sequined dress from Ferragamo!

Joey’s in Golden Path now… I hope she gets best newcomer next year! Cos she good! I do hope to be there on stage next year too! Dunno what this coming New Year ahead has installed for me…

Audition

Today I went for an audition to be the host of Generation Next a series that showcases young talent in Singapore. It was the most nerve wreaking experience as they gave me a script with 3 long paragraphs and asked me to memorise it on the spot! Then later read out the whole script as the host in front of the camera with no paper help at all!!! I almost fainted! It’s not easy memorising a script in a foreign environment without practicing it in the mirror or trying to read it aloud. Furthermore it was early in the morning, cold and my brain was still half asleep…. The time constraint and pressure also made memorising it tough….

Luckily the lady who was filming me during the audition was very patient (thank god!) with me and also encouraging as she knows that I’m new to such auditions…

I hope I get to go for more of such auditions and gain a lot more exposure! 🙂

Keeping my mind positive!

I’m a god mother!!! First time in my life… and my little angel is sooo beautiful with her tiniest feet and cutest smile.
Well, I have to say the Lee Ann has good genes to start with! Cos my girlfriend (who’s the mummy) was Ms Photogenic back in our Uni days.

See how pretty baby Lee Ann is!!

Just did a shoot for an editorial spread featuring famous make up artist Marjorie Teo and me! It’s not the first time working with her cos she did my make up for the recent contact lens ad. Real nice to work with her again as she really takes care of me and ensures I look good for the camera! (U don’t know how difficult it is to find a good make up artist that can paint everybody’s face nicely!)

This edition will be out on 26th Dec in Wanbao! I can’t wait to check it out! 😛
