Attended the Chingay rehearsal yesterday in the rain and hopefully I won’t fall sick! Plenty of peeps around me are sick so hope I’ll hold out cos I hate taking meds and what’s worse I’m allergic to a number of meds which makes falling sick a terrible, horrible thing!
Anyway, it was great fun standing on the float during the parade but it was initially helluva scary too! Cos the platform I was on moves up about 10 metres high! & it’s definitely not stable when the float is moving! I was grabbing onto the handle bars really tightly and tried my best not to scream!!! *haha* Not very nice to see a screaming Ms Singapore on a float! Kinda hilarious actually…
Joey was with there with me on the same float as well but she’s lucky she doesn’t need to be on the same platform as I and be tested your fear of heights! Got over the feeling after a while n got used to being high up n moving! Tho sometimes I still grab onto the handle bars when the float goes over humps. (Really feels like a roller coaster ride like that)
Can’t wait for the actual day of Chingay. It’s my favorite thing to watch since I was a kid seeing all those colourful, interesting & creative floats go by with plenty of elaborate cheorography! Takes lots of time and effort to put this up and it’s like a tradition in Singapore already to have Chingay! 😛
It’s on 16 Feb if your didn’t already know!
XOXO
Jessica
