Update on Mika!

Mika has been living with me for 3 months now and my she is slowly turning into an adult. Looking back at those photos taken of her when she first stepped into her new home, she looks so much smaller & “puppy-like”.

She has made many new friends around where we live and every morning she will run in the nearby open field unleashed and play “fetch”!

She’s not very good at fetch yet as she doesn’t always bring her ball back to U… it really depends on her mood! But U should really see her sprint! It’s like a lil’ red-brown bullet zipping through the tall green grass – simply amazing! It is only then that she resembles a hunting dog.

Mika also will have a surprise visit from her playmate Silky (my friend Joanne’s Silky Terrier who’s like 11 years old). Although Silky is 1/3 of Mika’s size, Mika is always very gentle playing with her and will not bully her even though she can do it anytime! We would just leave the both of them in my kitchen area and we’ll head out to shop. 🙂

Okie that’s all for now…

Hello!

Just completed the SGX Bull Charge earlier n it was so fun cos there were doggies!!! One of the runs was a Dog Run. How I wished I could’ve brought Mika along!

Yvonne-jie & I are the Ambassadors for the run this year. It’s so nice being able to participate in such charity runs; the children from MINDS did a wonderful hip hop dance performance! I was impressed! Pretty sure they can do hip hop a lot better than me! And it was also interesting to see big bosses from various companies running together having fun!

Prior to the run, we also visited St Vincent’s Home at Waterloo St and played Bingo, sang songs with the old folks living there. It felt like a nice family welcoming us to their home! 🙂

hand painted by the 18 charities sponsored. Each of the 18 bulls are
unique in design! I love mine! It’s soooo beautiful!

Hello everyone!

I just ran the Nike Human Race earlier this afternoon! Completed the 10km in 64min, it’s slightly slower than what I normally do but it’s expected because there was such a great turnout there today! Couple of congestion along the route due to the narrow pathways and thousands of runners all trying to go thru them! Furthermore the route consists of numerous up and down slopes which made the run slightly more challenging. It was really fun to run through concerts along the way and through Boat Quay & Clarke Quay! I really wonder what was going on in the diners minds as this whole flood of red sweaty shirts bypassed them! A couple of the tourists were amused and joined in the fun by cheering us on! Really cute!

The Concert Festival after the race was a great way to wind up the whole event as the music boosted up the whole atmosphere. It’s really a race I’ve never been in before and I must say I had a great time!

Human Race3 (Eik Long).jpgThis wonderful guy – Aik Leong (I hope I spelt his name correctly!) was my pacer and he really took very good care of me during the run! Thank you!!!! He made sure I was keeping a good pace, ensured my well-being and kept me updated on my timing and distance! I really appreciated what he did for me! So happy and lucky to have such a great guy to pace me! Can’t ask for a better one! 🙂

Human Race4.jpgBumped into Maria! (aka Evelyn Ng) We did the Life Story Ang Peng Siong ep together, so nice to meet up with her again! In between us is her friend running with her, Kimarie.

Hello!

Wanna sell off my HTC Touch Dual. Got it, tried using it, didn’t like it… I guess I still prefer my phones being more conventional and less hi tech! And have a separate organiser altogether! Got it for $800+. It’s a totally brand new Singtel set but without a receipt. Even the stickers on the phone is not peeled off…

I was gonna post it at $500 (neg) but to save time I will let it go at $450 nett.

Any takers?

Interested parties please email me at jessica.tan.com@gmail.com or leave me a comment here. 🙂

Nike Lunars

I’ve been training up for the Human Race coming Sunday and I did a 10km run in the Nike Lunars. Dunno if it’s me, but the Lunars made running it a whole lot easier! I did my 10km run in a faster time than before. This time completing it in 62.5min. Almost 5min faster than my previous run! 😀 Love those shoes!!!

After a run, Mika will always run up to greet me no matter how sweaty I am! Really a darling… Here’s a pic of her and me after my run with the Nike Lunars and many more cute photos of Mika!!!

She’s just sooooo cute that U wanna squeeze her all day! If only she will stop chewing my socks! 😦

Mika's 1st Outing!

Mika’s 6 months now and she’s getting more sociable as compared to when she 1st came home with me about a month ago. So, I decided to take a leap of faith and brought her to the Botanic Gardens for a walk/run. Didn’t know how she would react in the car as it would be her 1st outing and sitting in the car without her doggie cage!

DSC01234 - Mika's Car Ride.jpgShe looks like she’s wearing a seat belt doesn’t she? (oops! I hope no TP will stop me to fine this passenger who’s not wearing a seat belt!!!)

Couldn’t get a good picture of her running around Botanic Gardens cos she can’t stay still and runs really fast! Like a mini torpedo darting around. And her natural hunting instincts kicked in when she saw birds there. She stalked, she aimed and she pranced towards them! At such vast speeds! I was really tired out by her sprints!

After her morning in the gardens, she was soooo tired that she came home and slept like a puppy….

Will try to get photos of her darting around Botanic Gardens and post them here!

That’s all I’ve of Mika for now….

Went to attend the trial run in the new Lunar Trainer+ to try out the new shoes and also train up for the Nike Human Race on 31.08.08. Ran for 5 km in those shoes and I felt really bouncy in them and running on the road was a breeze… the soles of the Lunars felt soft and cushiony which prevented the ball of my feet to ache. I’ve rather wide feet so the Lunars wide front is perfect for me! Oh and one more thing I noticed about the shoe was the luminous yellow-green sole is great for people who run at night (i.e. me!) cos it’s so bright and striking that it’s hard not to see you in the darkness of the night! Hee…

Pictures from the trial run!

Guess which foot is mine???

DSC03805.JPGAnd this is the Nike Zoom Victory. I just ran 10km in them yesterday and completed the run in 67min. Don’t know whether the timing is good or not! This Zoom Victory uses some wire technology to hold the shoe and makes it even more lightweight than normal! Amazing…

Back to more training sessions! *pant*

Hello!

I hosted a dinner party with my university friends, Lee Ann, Mika and Crystal.

That night, I made prawn paste chicken (which turned out a lil salty) and warm chocolate cake for dessert.

Joanne made Swedish Meatballs and Huixian ordered take out from an Italian restaurant at Rail Mall.

Enjoy the pics!

Jess
