Dengue Scare!

I’ve been down with high fever (38.5 degrees) since Sunday evening. Yes! THREE whole days of fever!!! Woo hoo!!! I really dread getting a fever as I’ve to suffer though the whole agony of having one. Reason being my allergy to most drugs to cure fever namely Aspirin and Panadol. So, I’ve to force myself to take cold showers even though my body is extremely weak, sleep with ice packs all over my head, and drink lotsa “se2 cao2 sui3” or Oldenlandia Water (my reliable fever companion). And basically just sleep or you can call “suffer” though the fever! Sweat it out, sleep it off, fight it off with my natural immune system, whatever…. I’ve been in bed sleeping the past 3 days and only today I’m remotely strong enough to actually blog!

And cause of this viral fever of mine, I missed today’s filming which I feel really bad but I’m in no state to be in front of the camera and my manager did ask whether I had DENGUE!!! Due the the recurring fever. Which also suddenly woke me up to take this fever seriously. Better not go to set with the possibility of dengue in my blood! Don’t want to be a carrier! So went back to the Doc’s today to get a blood test (it cost me freaking $112!) 😦  and the Doc called me back a couple of hours later to tell me I don’t have dengue!!! *phew* (sigh of relief)

Hope my fever don’t come back and I can go to work tmw morn!!

XOXO

Hello!!!

I’ve not updated my blog for some days now… had a busy week and was very tired from the dance rehearsals for Fei Teng Bing Dian, to photoshoot for a fashion feature in I Weekly, to filming, to auditions, celebrating my birthday and organising stuff for my new home! *pant pant*

Dance rehearsals had been a little tough on me as we are required to learn the dance in a short time and I’m not a very experienced dancer as some – the last time I was officially trained in dance was in primary school for Chinese dance and it’s very different from Ballet! Which is the main foundation of the dance I’m learning now! So crash course in Ballet for me! Did Indian dance for President Star Charity last year but that is easy compared to what I’m learning now!!! Hee hee… I’ve accumulated quite a number of “blue-blacks” on my knee due to the floor work in the dance routine!!! But all in all I actually do enjoy the dance training lessons though I struggle at times but its a great workout and an art I’ve always loved! (I regretted not taking up ballet when I was younger!)

Here’s some photos taken during our rehearsals with Jeanette and the dancers who are really coaching us well!!!

Notice the knee guards I’m wearing!!! Hee that’s to prevent more bruises from forming! My knees look “dirty” now cos of it and can’t wear my fav short skirts n shorts esp. when the weather’s been blazing hot lately!

Speaking of weather…. was filming for a couple of hours with Jeanette the other day in the hot afternoon sun around 1pm outdoors and I was burnt tho’ I had sunblock on! Got myself some funky tan lines on my body and arms!! *haha* and today I realised I was actually burnt as my forehead started peeling!!! For a moment I was wondering what’s wrong with my skin then I remembered my days in the sun… 😛

That’s all for now… time to Zzzzz….

Till we meet again!

Jess

P.S. I’m in the showdown “Sin City” trailer kicking some ass with the DOND babes!

Checkout my team!! http://theshowdown.mediacorptv.sg/team_sisters.htm

Just came back from my dance training with Jeanette for our dance scene together and it’s very “hot”! Don’t know how it’ll come across on camera but I like how it looks in the mirror! But comparing me with Jeanette who has 10 years of dance background I feel pressured and look not as experienced as her dancing! Hee…. *stress*

More training sessions is yet to come and hope it’ll look better and better!!!

Did a short film shoot for NEA to promote saving the environment and saving electricity and planting more trees! I’m supposed to be a teacher cum “Guardian of the Forest!”

Here’s my “Guardian” outfit during our photoshoot with Ralph the superhero that saves our Earth!!!

Just shot episode 6 for Her Sense or Nu3 Ren2 Xiang1 together with Cynthia Koh and Trey. We were the guests for the “transparent” theme!

Wore this cute Louis Vuitton nurse-like outfit during one of the show’s segments and took photos of it since it’ll never be in the stores as it is a runway show piece!!!

Nice?

Had a shoot today for publicity shots… Hope the pictures turns out nice!!! *crosses fingers*

I had a hard time finding the photo studio!!! It was at Hong Lim Complex, and I tell U that place is like a maze! The numbers of the units can jump like nobody’s business! Store owners was staring at me this crazy girl lugging sooooo many bags walking in circles around just to find the studio!

Hee hee luckily the wonders of technology saved me – handphone!!! When in doubt just call and U can find ur way! *LOL*

Had lotsa fun at the shoot giving very different looks – from cutesy to sophisticated! Once I lay my hands on some of the pics I’ll post em here!!!

When I do have a day off or 2, I love to cook, bake, yoga, run, cycle, play my PS3/Wii or online games like DOTA, bowl, hang out with friends and just be myself aka “crazy”!!!

Here’s some random photos of me and my buds on these days!

I was attempting to achieve higher cheekbones….

Just did the Style Weddings fashion show yesterday and it was a blast! This year I had to model 3 different wedding gowns from different bridal boutiques. Had to go through the “quick change” again backstage! I loved all the gowns that I wore… Especially the red one! Very couture…Here are some photos from yesterday….

IMG_3859 - Jessica (small).jpgAfter the show, Daniel Ong and Jaime Teo got married in the same ballroom!!! In their own words “Don’t waste the beautiful stage!” Congratulations D & J!!! So happy for this extremely loving couple… Stayed on to attend their wonderful union and their wedding was really unconventional. In the invites it was already written “Come in your party best!”. They surprised us by hosting their own wedding and “sabo-ed” some unsuspecting people didn’t know they were going to be impromptu hosts (were pre-chosen by the couple)! E.g. the Flying Dutchman, The Muttons and Irene Ang. Had great entertainment by Kumar, Diya, Jon Leong and many more! Food was fantastic! Music fabulous and most importantly the newly weds were extremely blissful and my favorite moment was when Daniel read out his poem to Jaime! I was tearing up when I heard it as it was sooooo sweet! It’s no surprise what’s Jaime’s reaction was….

Photos of this wonderful wedding will be posted up soon!

Stay tuned…

My Day of Filming

Had an early day today – woke up at 545am to step out of the house
at 615am. Was waiting outside my place for a cab when it started to
drizzle, luckily I had my brolly with me and whipped it out in time! In
5 mins or so it started to really I mean REALLY pour! Stood there and
thought to myself, no cab will ever drive by in rain like this so I
called for a cab.

Even calling a cab took me 6mins! By then, it
was about 630am and I had to be at Mediacorp by 7am. 😦 What’s worse
was that the cab I called for took another 10 mins to come!!! Grrr…..
Heavy rain, waited half an hour before I stepped into a cab and wee
hours of the morning just don’t agree with my daily routine. Luckily, I
reached Mediacorp at 7am on the DOT! *phew* I really hate being late!
This good habit was cultivated into me when I was in SIA when
punctuality is a must!

The rest of the day went rather smoothly
unlike my morning. The director said I’ve improved a lot since my 1st
day!!! *big smile* She said that I speak a lot more naturally now and
seem a lot more comfortable! And asked me to keep on working hard which
I think I’m putting in all my effort to! 🙂 At least I’m seeing
results!!! What I lack in experience I try to cover it up with lots of
hard work and determination and of course opening my ears to criticism
and advise!

I had a nice time filming my “major” scene with
Fann-jie as she was very encouraging and gave me certain pointers and
advise when I was kinda “lost” I so appreciate her guidance and really
hope to learn a lot from her! I really look up to her as an actress and
have always loved her acting!

I guess I’m lucky that I get along
well with my colleagues as Jeanette gives me great pointers too! And
she’s great at crying scene! Today, I had a scene with her and I didn’t
even know she was tearing badly beside me as she was not facing my
direction. Once she turned to me, I was totally shocked to see her all
teary-eyed! And that scene, we totally had no words spoken so it was
pure emotion! *admiration* I want to be able to do that just like her
one day! Well, for now I guess I’ll just concentrate on improving my
acting skills!

 Signing off for now!

XOXO
