Hello from Shanghai

I’m in Shanghai now, attending the 80th Anniversary of Ferragamo celebrations with Fann Wong & Christopher Lee!

I’m really excited as to what to expect during this event and I will keep you updated on the events.

Tonight we’ll be going for a dinner party! Can’t wait!

Ciao! Gotta rush off now!!

Jessica

Been very busy lately brushing up on my mandarin to prepare myself for Channel 8. I’ll be taking up a small supporting role which starts filming in April. I’m very excited and also extremely nervous as I’m very inexperienced in Chinese drama and hope I don’t look like a fool on camera!

Also, my new place which we purchased a 2 years ago has TOP!!! That means lotsa planning has to be done to decide on furnishing the place and deciding on the interior decor. Exciting Exciting!!! But stressful too as there’s so many things to juggle now with the house in hand!

So many things to do and so little time!!!

Irregular Choice - Vertigo.JPG

Just purchased my very 1st pair of Irregular Choice shoes!!! It’s really cute and goes with almost any outfit! Shorts, skirt, dresses, jeans etc. etc.

Can check out the online catalog of our local distributor at http://surrealistlovescene.wordpress.com/

They’re really cool people with a boutique at 49A Boat Quay.

I’m so happy with my new shoes and can’t stop wearing them since I bought them! Ain’t the sole of the shoe cute???

XOXO
Jessica the shoes whore!

Hope everyone’s CNY was a blast! Lotsa yu sheng, family gatherings etc etc…

This year, I participated in the Chingay parade as part of the CNY celebrations. It’s my very first time being involved in the parade (and apparently it’s the 1st time for a Ms Singapore Universe to be in it!) When I was in school I was only involved in Youth Day and NDP celebrations!

I’ve always liked watching the Chingay parade as it’s full of colour, vibrancy and filled with lively performances. And it’s interesting to see new float designs and innovativeness in their co-ordination and movements! Dunno what will surprise U next!

And this year’s Chingay presents to you…… Your 1st Female F1 Racer!!! (at least I attempted to be one!)

I can’t believe my luck! I’ve always wanted to sit inside a real F1 car and hold it’s millions of dollars steering wheel. It’s a dream come true! All I wanted to was to take photos of that beautiful machine and I didn’t expect the crew to offer me the chance to sit inside the cockpit! I made plenty of my guyfriends jealous with the photos! Furthermore, they fired up the engine for me to see! The roaring sound of it simply was melodious and deafening at the same time! I am such a sucker for cars! (caused by the heavy influence of my brothers!)

That being said, I still drive an economical fuel saving Honda FIT! Just like admiring from afar….

Chingay 2008

Attended the Chingay rehearsal yesterday in the rain and hopefully I won’t fall sick! Plenty of peeps around me are sick so hope I’ll hold out cos I hate taking meds and what’s worse I’m allergic to a number of meds which makes falling sick a terrible, horrible thing!

Anyway, it was great fun standing on the float during the parade but it was initially helluva scary too! Cos the platform I was on moves up about 10 metres high! & it’s definitely not stable when the float is moving! I was grabbing onto the handle bars really tightly and tried my best not to scream!!! *haha* Not very nice to see a screaming Ms Singapore on a float! Kinda hilarious actually…

Joey was with there with me on the same float as well but she’s lucky she doesn’t need to be on the same platform as I and be tested your fear of heights! Got over the feeling after a while n got used to being high up n moving! Tho sometimes I still grab onto the handle bars when the float goes over humps. (Really feels like a roller coaster ride like that)

Can’t wait for the actual day of Chingay. It’s my favorite thing to watch since I was a kid seeing all those colourful, interesting & creative floats go by with plenty of elaborate cheorography! Takes lots of time and effort to put this up and it’s like a tradition in Singapore already to have Chingay! 😛

It’s on 16 Feb if your didn’t already know!

XOXO

Look out for Makansutra Raw this coming Tues as I’ll be bringing Mr Seetoh somewhere nice to eat! Where??? You’ll find out! *wink*

Hope I don’t look like a glutton on TV!!! *hahah*

I did a fashion spread shoot yesterday for LIME magazine together with a LIME magazine reader who was “sabo-ed” by her friend to be a model! It was great fun doing lotsa awkward n dynamic poses to make the spread very high fashion! I bet Natalie had lots of fun too! And even tho’ it was her first time shooting, she was a real natural!! So easy to work with and naturally beautiful!

One thing’s for sure… I’m going to ache all over because of the poses I had to hold together with Natalie! Great fun & great workout at the same time just like the Nintendo Wii!!! *haha*

Look out for March issue of LIME magazine to see this spread!

Here’s a lil spoiler of my look for the spread! 🙂

Me n Datuk Shahrir.JPG

As the Youth Ambassador for Rotary Club Singapore, I went down to JB early this morning together with a Rotary Club Singapore rep to meet up with the Rotary Club Johor Centennial members to discuss and finalise the site and sponsors from the Malaysian side for this environmental project in March.

In addition we had a meeting with the MP of Johor Bahru Datuk Shahrir(in photo) as he is supporting this event. In March, I will be leading about 500 students from Singapore to go over to Sungei Tebrau to clean up the river of litter and hopefully plant some trees in the mangrove. Ms Malaysia world will co-lead the Malaysian students for this same project as well. This not only ties up both Singaporean and Malaysian students to work together as one but also raise their awareness of keeping our environment clean and protecting its wildlife that lives in it.

This is the current state Sungei Tebrau the site we are going to work on in March:
