So far filming has been really fun! I guess the anxiety and nervousness I had on my 1st day is slowly dissipating away and I get more comfortable with the cast and directing styles of Chinese Drama. Encountered some difficulty in trying to express certain emotions expected by the directors as initially I was not expressive enough or they just wanted more – for me to really let go. And finally I did! 🙂 So far I’m enjoying myself a lot and going to work is something I look forward to everyday!

I’m looking forward to this particular dance scene I’m going to do which will probably be the most challenging part for me! Won’t disclose what exactly it is…. 😛

Here’s a teaser of how I’ll look in the drama! 🙂

Day 2 of Filming

Just had my second day of filming, and I think it went ok. As expected the director had things to correct about me like my speech in mandarin was too “biao1 zhun3” that it sounded a bit too theatrical hence not simulating a daily natural speech! *hehe* I think I practiced too much with my aunt and Chinese teacher. And my aunt teaches more theater acting in schools hence the influence! 😛

At least correcting that part wasn’t extremely difficult but it did give me stress as I had to consciously remember not to sound like that anymore! Adding in physical acting and facial expressions, it was kinda overwhelming for a newbie like me!

The comforting part was the director was very nice, patient and actually felt my acting was not bad! 🙂 Maybe that was said to not crush my confidence! *hehe*

Oh well, day 2’s over…. looking forward to tomorrow which has longer and a bit more challenging scenes!

Wish me luck!!

XOXO
Jessica

P.S. Just received this new pic of Karen Mok and me in conversation from Shanghai!

Beauty World…. Cha cha cha!

index_r2_c4.jpg

Went to watch Beauty World because I heard so much about it and a friend of mine was trying to arrange a group gathering for us to watch it together. However, our time tables clashed so we decided to watch it on our own.

No regrets watching this wonderful musical at all! it was hilarious, entertaining, heart warming, a musical where every Singaporean can relate to with its occasional Singaporean-Cantonese dialogue. I recall laughing till tears rolled down my cheeks during the climax. My praise to Elena Wang & Dwayne Tan & Irene Ang as their acting is extremely good and singing voices so melodic to listen to. 3 hours of the show went on effortlessly and not one minute went by making me feel bored or restless. At the end of the show I wished it could continue on but guess that’s the best way to end it – leaving you wanting for more!

I simply loved it!

Next to watch on my list… Dim Sum Dollies!

I’ll be in a supporting role for Channel News Asia’s Drama series. Filming will start next week so I’m now busy preparing for my role. Even tho it’s not a lead/major role I want to be well prepared and put in my best effort for it! Plus, I’ve never really had any professional acting classes so I must definitely practice more before I go in front of the camera. Hope that will cover up for my lack of experience!

It’s fun taking on new roles and I’m lucky to be given such opportunities. Great way to kick start the new year and hopefully this is a sign that there will be more good things to come.

Earlier today I met up with my long lost friend of many years for Dim Sum lunch. She’s my junior from SCGS and now she’s a happy mother! This girlfriend of mine was my “daughter” in school (U know how when we were in secondary school we would start this long family line among classmates and friends just for fun) and now she has a daughter of her own! (I hope that doesn’t make me grandma!!! Luckily we no longer play this kinda things now) How time flies and we all start growing up and start families! Somehow I feel myself surrounded by babies! There must be some baby boom happening or maybe it just so happen that everyone around me that I know are just procreating!

Presenting Baby Ally!!! Together with the Mr Bean’s Bear I got her!

Star Awards

Attended the Star Awards last Sunday and it was a very surreal experience… I’ve always watched it on TV to see how glamorous and stylish the stars are and secretly supported a couple of actors/actresses. But this time round I’m one of the attendees and I was soaking this experience up!

I have to say that the feeling of seeing everything live is a whole lot different! U can feel the excitement and nerves in the air!

I have to pen this down… don’t mind my drooling here please! Fiona Xie, Fann Wong, Jesseca Liu & Ong Ai Lin look simply stunning in person! Man… If I were a guy… I shan’t continue this sentence! *haha* Trust me, coming from a girl here, I think they’re the epitome of great Asian looks! Nuff’ said… Here’s some pictures I took that night. Not many tho!

I love my sequined dress from Ferragamo!

Filming Police & Thief

4 ballerinas.JPG

Today’s my 1st day of filming for an Episode of Police & Thief. Got casted a supporting role (rather bit role) in the sitcom. Don’t really wanna tell you much about the episode as I don’t wanna give away any surprises! 😉 But U must watch it!

Mark Lee & me.JPGActing with Mark Lee, Constance Song & Suhaimi is simply wonderful! Mark Lee is a natural comedian making anything and everything funny! Just can’t stop laughing even though some scene were meant to be serious!

Me & Constance Song.JPG

Constance Song is very professional and a wonderful actress! I’m so happy to be able to meet her in real life, furthermore work with her! I can’t believe my luck! She’s soooooo gorgeous! Don’t need much to make her look pretty! And her eyes are very captivating… Initially I thought she was a little unfriendly but later I just realised that when she doesn’t smile she just has this “ice queen” look! Not her fault really…. Still 100% gorgeous in my books!

Sgt Dollah.JPGAnd Suhaimi is very very down to earth! No airs at all!
Me in Ballet garb.JPGXiao Yun & me.JPG

The experience is simply great! Can’t wait for my next day of filiming to work with them again!

Will let U know when this episode will air soon! Cos I don’t know yet!!

Love,
Jess
