Hello!

Just got back from a Style Weddings photo shoot with Nat – yes we’re a “couple” this upcoming issue! This time, Club Med invited us down to do the shoot in their wonderful revamped resort in Bali! This is my very first time in a Club Med and the experience is so different, unique and welcoming! We were first given a really warm greeting at the airport by Club Med’s only Singaporean G.O – Gazo, and the minute we arrived at the resort, we were welcomed with locals playing Balinese music and draped with orchids over our shoulders!

Club Med Bali is BEAUTIFUL!!!! When you’re in Club Med, U feel really special and belong to this Club Med family. Everyone in Club Med greets each other and I mean everyone… including the guests! And I didn’t know that all food, drinks, activities was provided unlike other resorts where U pay for your lodging only and everything else is additional. So, this is a total different experience. They even have a trapeze within the compound! but I didn’t have time to try that out. 😦 But I did go windsurfing and kayaking with Nat when we had the time. There was a personal windsurfing instructor – Utah – a Japanese windsurfer who was a patient teacher. And I must say, windsurfing is NOT easy but really fun! I managed to catch the wind and travel pretty fast but I didn’t know how to stop or change direction fluid enough so I just dropped the sail. And many times I fell into the water! 😛 Also, I managed to squeeze in a yoga session with Steve and got a good workout.

Club Med7.JPGWhen we were at Club Med, it was also during their media launch of the re-opening ceremony of the Bali resort as they’ve just renovated the place. So, all 6 of us was also given a complimentary excursion to either go cycling at Mt Agung or white water rafting at Ayung River. And we all chose white water rafting! Sooooo exciting! It’s my very 1st time going for white water rafting and I really encourage everyone to try it at least once cos it’s soooooooooo FUN! Initially it was quite scary as we weren’t used to the fast flowing and choppy waters. and sometimes the raft drops a little which made my heart drop too! But after a while when I got used to the raft and found my balance it was so enjoyable, scenic and helluva fun. Towards the end we were even confident enough to race each other’s rafts to overtake and be ahead of the other! *haha* (there’s only 4 to a raft so we were split up)

We also went shopping at Kuta and had a meal at Jimbaran. Oh and Steve brought us to this place called Made Warung where the Indonesian food there is lovely but my favourite there is still the Chocolate Lemon Cheesecake… it’s simply yummilicious!

Though the weather there was a bit cranky with flash storms and major blackouts at Kuta area, we had a great time and wished we could stay there a lot longer. But the good thing is that this makes U yearn to go back there again… Too much of somethign good is not good.

Here’s some photos from my cam so enjoy! I’ll upload more when I get the rest of the photos from the rest of them.

XOXO
Jessica

Got this fluke shot of this MALE squirrel running away cos Nat exclaimed and scared the squirrel. I actually had a nicer shot of it… believe me….

A year has passed and I had to hand over my reign to new blood. The quest to find the next Queen ended on the night on 20th May, Tues around 12.15 am (Wed early morning to be exact). Congratulations to Shenise Wong! I wish her all the best and hope the carries the torch with pride and bring home glory!

It was a bitter sweet feeling that night watching this year’s pageant and I felt nostalgic all over again. I remember how intense MSU2007 was that night of 22 April. It went by so quickly that U hardly had time to be nervous or think about the scale of being in the pageant for the matter. Every 3 min commercial break was a mad rush to change, touch up make up, change hair style and get into your correct line-up position back stage!

I vividly remember there was a tiny TV screen backstage for the rest who are waiting to watch the girl performing on stage and when U return the girls will tell U your points, the crowds reaction, make up artist advising on how U look on stage etc etc…

I’m happy my year went by very smoothly and I’m proud to say I managed to make use of my title to give back to society in one way or another. I did up a video of my past year and will post it up soon once my friend helps me upload it on YouTube. 🙂

In the meantime, enjoy the photos of that night!

Pictures from Boracay

As promised!

U can tell from the pictures how windy it was there due to the typhoon that was passing through. Sporadic rain made shooting a whole lot fun! Was running in and out of shelter in the bridal gowns just to capture the “dry” moments! It was hilarious but a whole lot of fun! I looked more like a runaway bride most of the time! *haha*

Enjoy the pics!

Had a Busy Week!

Hello!!!

I’ve not updated my blog for some days now… had a busy week and was very tired from the dance rehearsals for Fei Teng Bing Dian, to photoshoot for a fashion feature in I Weekly, to filming, to auditions, celebrating my birthday and organising stuff for my new home! *pant pant*

Dance rehearsals had been a little tough on me as we are required to learn the dance in a short time and I’m not a very experienced dancer as some – the last time I was officially trained in dance was in primary school for Chinese dance and it’s very different from Ballet! Which is the main foundation of the dance I’m learning now! So crash course in Ballet for me! Did Indian dance for President Star Charity last year but that is easy compared to what I’m learning now!!! Hee hee… I’ve accumulated quite a number of “blue-blacks” on my knee due to the floor work in the dance routine!!! But all in all I actually do enjoy the dance training lessons though I struggle at times but its a great workout and an art I’ve always loved! (I regretted not taking up ballet when I was younger!)

Here’s some photos taken during our rehearsals with Jeanette and the dancers who are really coaching us well!!!

dancers n me.JPG

jeanette me n dancers.JPG
Notice the knee guards I’m wearing!!! Hee that’s to prevent more bruises from forming! My knees look “dirty” now cos of it and can’t wear my fav short skirts n shorts esp. when the weather’s been blazing hot lately!

Speaking of weather…. was filming for a couple of hours with Jeanette the other day in the hot afternoon sun around 1pm outdoors and I was burnt tho’ I had sunblock on! Got myself some funky tan lines on my body and arms!! *haha* and today I realised I was actually burnt as my forehead started peeling!!! For a moment I was wondering what’s wrong with my skin then I remembered my days in the sun… 😛

That’s all for now… time to Zzzzz….

Till we meet again!

XOXO
Jess
