Keeping Fit!

I’ve been exercising everyday now from going for yoga, running, skipping rope and going to the gym and maintaining a much healthier diet – taking plenty of fruits/vegetables and drinking only juices, green tea and water –  in bid to stay healthy and also prepare myself for the Chinese drama role. I’m playing a dancer hence trying my best to get a more dancer-like physique.

Also, this gives me more motivation to maintain a healthy lifestyle!

I feel a lot more energetic with constant exercise and skin glows now!

Want to see me really sweat it out??? Look out for this new Ch5 variety show called Showdown (airing in May) where I really work it out and get all sweaty and muddy!!! (no pun intended!)

So far filming has been really fun! I guess the anxiety and nervousness I had on my 1st day is slowly dissipating away and I get more comfortable with the cast and directing styles of Chinese Drama. Encountered some difficulty in trying to express certain emotions expected by the directors as initially I was not expressive enough or they just wanted more – for me to really let go. And finally I did! 🙂 So far I’m enjoying myself a lot and going to work is something I look forward to everyday!

I’m looking forward to this particular dance scene I’m going to do which will probably be the most challenging part for me! Won’t disclose what exactly it is…. 😛

Here’s a teaser of how I’ll look in the drama! 🙂

Forgot to post up these photos taken during the production. So thought I might as well do it now…. Better now than never right???

Day 2 of Filming

Just had my second day of filming, and I think it went ok. As expected the director had things to correct about me like my speech in mandarin was too “biao1 zhun3” that it sounded a bit too theatrical hence not simulating a daily natural speech! *hehe* I think I practiced too much with my aunt and Chinese teacher. And my aunt teaches more theater acting in schools hence the influence! 😛

At least correcting that part wasn’t extremely difficult but it did give me stress as I had to consciously remember not to sound like that anymore! Adding in physical acting and facial expressions, it was kinda overwhelming for a newbie like me!

The comforting part was the director was very nice, patient and actually felt my acting was not bad! 🙂 Maybe that was said to not crush my confidence! *hehe*

Oh well, day 2’s over…. looking forward to tomorrow which has longer and a bit more challenging scenes!

Wish me luck!!

P.S. Just received this new pic of Karen Mok and me in conversation from Shanghai!

Just experienced my very first day of Chinese Drama… I was very nervous and didn’t know what to expect! I’ve heard so much about the directors at the CD side!

I think it went ok…. praying tmw will be even better!

Mr Leonardo Ferragamo stopped over Singapore just for today to catch his flight home tonight. And it was really nice of him to get in contact with me to see if we could catch up over lunch.

It is such an honour to be able to take him out to lunch and introduce him to the local food here. So I thought the best place to bring him to try good Singapore food in a nice ambiance was  at the Straits Kitchen in the Grand Hyatt. I did my part to explain the many different types of food we had here and how we love our food. Convinced him to try Chicken Rice and Popiah which he loved *phew* then he stopped after (very small eater). Glad he enjoyed lunch and managed to give him a little of Singapore to remember!

After our brief lunch, I had to rush off for a clothes fitting and now I’m getting ready to attend the musical We Will Rock You gala tonight.

Filming of my very first Chinese Drama starts tomorrow so I’m very excited and a little scared! Hope the director/colleagues and most importantly the public will enjoy my performance! Please be kind to me as it will be my very first try! I look to learn from all criticisms given! 🙂

Signing off for now…

This is my very first time walking on the red carpet for an event! (minus the one we walked during the Miss Universe competition in Mexico last year)

It’s such a surreal experience as I never imagine myself walking the red carpet one day… furthermore I got a rub shoulders with Asian A-Listers like Tony Leung, Gigi Leung, Karen Mok, Charlie Yeung, Kim Tae Hee just to name a few. (I was only 2 seats away from Tony Leung!!!) Meeting these Asian stars in the flesh is such an honor as I literally grew up watching their films. I too grew up watching Fann Wong’s drama serials! So, sounding a bit like a star-struck little girl here… But these are my honest feelings that went through my mind when I first met them!

I even had the opportunity to chat to Karen Mok for a while in the Museum and found out the boots that she was wearing was sort of “invented” by her as she gave the designer in Ferragamo the idea! Smart and creative lass!

Oh BTW it’s not easy to look glam on a cold cold 6 degree windy night by the habour on the red carpet! Notice how everyone around us were wrapped up while we braved the cold in our spring/summer outfits! 🙂

A picture says a thousand words so enjoy the pics and spot the stars!

Attended the opening ceremony where Zhang Ziyi & Tony Leung opened the show. They were waiting with us in the same waiting area before the whole ceremony begun.

We talked to the Chief Executive of Ferragamo Mr Ferruccio Ferragamo and met his young son as well! Really nice and hospitable family…

Photo op with Ferruccio.JPGAnd we were given a tour of the History of Ferragamo from how each of the shoes and bags are painstakingly hand crafted to seeing historical pieces of Salvatore Ferragamo’s creativity!

I met Karen Mok!

Earlier just now at the museum I was introduced to Karen Mok by Paul Cadman. She’s really cute in person and has no airs! I also rubbed shoulders with Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi though we didn’t get introduced nor talked (as the press went crazy with them!) I was so happy just to see them in the flesh! (I know I sound like a star stuck kiddo here) but I really do feel that way when I see the actors I actually grew up watching on the big screen!

Same feeling when I first met Fann and Christopher. (I literally grew up watching all their drama serials! Think since late primary school)

I’ll post up the photos

I’m all garbed up in Ferragamo wear waiting to set off while Fann & Christopher are getting ready at this very moment! 🙂

So, as I’m waiting… I decided to admire the view from the 55th floor and take some photos!

Me in my rm b4 museum.JPG

That’s me in my room in my cute outfit! I can’t wait to see shoes that used to be worn by Greta Garbo, the legendary Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol! Ferragamo is really an iconic brand and being able to see all their works since 1928 is a blessing for me! Never did I imagine that I can be present at such a grandeur event!

Keeping U posted!

Love from Shanghai!
