Hello!
Here’s an update on Mika! Her constipation has stopped all thanks to helpful advise from various doggie lovers out there! Been feeding her a dose of apple cider vinegar on alternate days and started mixing her Welness 95% Turkey or Lamb wet food with Addiction’s Raw Dehydrated Food for her morning meal. I was recommended to use the raw dehydrated food by another Shiba owner who feeds their pup a mixture of freshly homecooked meats and Addiction’sĀ raw dehydrated food. They did warn me that the dehydrated food will look like icky baby food when mixed, so I was prepared. But what I wasn’t prepared for was the smell!!! It has a very strong gamey smell which Mika loves! Now she goes crazy when I mix her food in the morning – a whole lot more than last time. (I don’t like the smell of mutton/lamb hence I don’t enjoy it as much as her) She’s surely a happy puppy every morning!
And the great news is that she’s back to poo poo-ing well and sometimes even too well! 2 times in the morning! Haha! Mika also stopped eating grass when I bring her for her walks now so that’s a good sign. I guess the lesson learnt here is that, even though giving her a high protein diet might seem good for her, but like humans, she needs her daily dose of fiber in her diet.
Mika’s getting a whole lot more interested in her world now and is less timid, looking at humans curiously and trying to get over her fear of her arch nemesis – The Umbrella! Haha…
Here’s Mika in her fetal sleeping position!
XOXO
Jessica

Hello world!
Mika had her very 1st birthday party on 8 Feb, she’s finally 1! Not yet an adult but no longer a puppy! And she met her very 1st Shiba. Got acquianted with the owner through a friend and it’s really hard to find Shiba owners in SG, so I thought why not broaden Mika’s horizon and make more doggie friends!
Here’s some photos from her “party”. We just met at The Urban Pooch Cafe at Balestier where we ordered a dog strawberry cheesecake just for her! Mika loved it, but the other 2 dogs took some time to finish theirs. Mika even “stole” some of her friend’s cake! What a greedy lil pooch!
Here’s some photos from that day.
XOXO

Hello!
Just got back from a Style Weddings photo shoot with Nat – yes we’re a “couple” this upcoming issue! This time, Club Med invited us down to do the shoot in their wonderful revamped resort in Bali! This is my very first time in a Club Med and the experience is so different, unique and welcoming! We were first given a really warm greeting at the airport by Club Med’s only Singaporean G.O – Gazo, and the minute we arrived at the resort, we were welcomed with locals playing Balinese music and draped with orchids over our shoulders!
Club Med Bali is BEAUTIFUL!!!! When you’re in Club Med, U feel really special and belong to this Club Med family. Everyone in Club Med greets each other and I mean everyone… including the guests! And I didn’t know that all food, drinks, activities was provided unlike other resorts where U pay for your lodging only and everything else is additional. So, this is a total different experience. They even have a trapeze within the compound! but I didn’t have time to try that out. š¦ But I did go windsurfing and kayaking with Nat when we had the time. There was a personal windsurfing instructor – Utah – a Japanese windsurfer who was a patient teacher. And I must say, windsurfing is NOT easy but really fun! I managed to catch the wind and travel pretty fast but I didn’t know how to stop or change direction fluid enough so I just dropped the sail. And many times I fell into the water! š Also, I managed to squeeze in a yoga session with Steve and got a good workout.
When we were at Club Med, it was also during their media launch of the re-opening ceremony of the Bali resort as they’ve just renovated the place. So, all 6 of us was also given a complimentary excursion to either go cycling at Mt Agung or white water rafting at Ayung River. And we all chose white water rafting! Sooooo exciting! It’s my very 1st time going for white water rafting and I really encourage everyone to try it at least once cos it’s soooooooooo FUN! Initially it was quite scary as we weren’t used to the fast flowing and choppy waters. and sometimes the raft drops a little which made my heart drop too! But after a while when I got used to the raft and found my balance it was so enjoyable, scenic and helluva fun. Towards the end we were even confident enough to race each other’s rafts to overtake and be ahead of the other! *haha* (there’s only 4 to a raft so we were split up)
We also went shopping at Kuta and had a meal at Jimbaran. Oh and Steve brought us to this place called Made Warung where the Indonesian food there is lovely but my favourite there is still the Chocolate Lemon Cheesecake… it’s simply yummilicious!
Though the weather there was a bit cranky with flash storms and major blackouts at Kuta area, we had a great time and wished we could stay there a lot longer. But the good thing is that this makes U yearn to go back there again… Too much of somethign good is not good.
Here’s some photos from my cam so enjoy! I’ll upload more when I get the rest of the photos from the rest of them.
XOXO
Jessica
My bridal make up on the 1st day.
Nat giving his electric look. Don’t look at his feet though! š
Now, my turn to work… pose!
The brilliant guy who made me beautiful for the shoot – Ernest Lim
Our psuedo Vogue cover! š
Squirrels come to our buffet restaurant daily to be fed by the guests, and we fed them too! They’re super cute and not afriad of humans. I even fed them by hand. Got this fluke shot of this MALE squirrel running away cos Nat exclaimed and scared the squirrel. I actually had a nicer shot of it… believe me….
White water rafting – notice the beautiful waterfall in the background.
Our personal raft guide – Reggie
After a tiring 2 hours of rafting we had to climb up like a million steps to lunch…. *urgh*
But the climb was worth it as we got this view! paddyfields!
This is the man behind the lens – Kelvin Chia
Saw this green Gecko with red spots within Club Med’s vicintity… and it’s huge!
Fire dancers at the night’s events
Feeding the squirrels again! Hee… Wish I could have one as a pet!
Ducks!

Mika has been living with me for 3 months now and my she is slowly turning into an adult. Looking back at those photos taken of her when she first stepped into her new home, she looks so much smaller & “puppy-like”.
She has made many new friends around where we live and every morning she will run in the nearby open field unleashed and play “fetch”!
She’s not very good at fetch yet as she doesn’t always bring her ball back to U… it really depends on her mood! But U should really see her sprint! It’s like a lil’ red-brown bullet zipping through the tall green grass – simply amazing! It is only then that she resembles a hunting dog.
Mika also will have a surprise visit from her playmate Silky (my friend Joanne’s Silky Terrier who’s like 11 years old). Although Silky is 1/3 of Mika’s size, Mika is always very gentle playing with her and will not bully her even though she can do it anytime! We would just leave the both of them in my kitchen area and we’ll head out to shop. š
Silky licking my cheek!
Sliky posing for the camera!
We’re locked up!!! š¦
Mika smiles when she sleeps, and I find it simply adorable! She sometimes sticks her tongue out as well.
Okie that’s all for now…
XOXO

I’ve been training up for the Human Race coming Sunday and I did a 10km run in the Nike Lunars. Dunno if it’s me, but the Lunars made running it a whole lot easier! I did my 10km run in a faster time than before. This time completing it in 62.5min. Almost 5min faster than my previous run! š Love those shoes!!!
After a run, Mika will always run up to greet me no matter how sweaty I am! Really a darling… Here’s a pic of her and me after my run with the Nike Lunars and many more cute photos of Mika!!!

Mika’s 6 months now and she’s getting more sociable as compared to when she 1st came home with me about a month ago. So, I decided to take a leap of faith and brought her to the Botanic Gardens for a walk/run. Didn’t know how she would react in the car as it would be her 1st outing and sitting in the car without her doggie cage!
She looks like she’s wearing a seat belt doesn’t she? (oops! I hope no TP will stop me to fine this passenger who’s not wearing a seat belt!!!)
Couldn’t get a good picture of her running around Botanic Gardens cos she can’t stay still and runs really fast! Like a mini torpedo darting around. And her natural hunting instincts kicked in when she saw birds there. She stalked, she aimed and she pranced towards them! At such vast speeds! I was really tired out by her sprints!
After her morning in the gardens, she was soooo tired that she came home and slept like a puppy….

That’s all I’ve of Mika for now….
XOXO,
Jess

Mika’s been with me for a week and a half and she’s bonded with me pretty well. She’s still slowly getting used to her new environment and slowly making new friends. I’ve been asking lotsa friends over to see her and get her socialised as well as Shibas have to be socialised at a young age if not they will be very timid. Oh, and 2 days ago, I heard her very 1st bark! I felt like a mummy hearing her child’s 1st word! She really wanted attention one morning and did her usual whining (I don’t give in to that) and finally she let out a bark! Just to attract attention! Sooooooo CUTE!
Yesterday when I was playing with her again, she lost her 1st milk tooth at home! I was at 1st a bit shocked as I wasn’t sure that was her milk tooth and thought she might have chipped a tooth! Hee… I later realised it was her baby tooth! š
She’s grown quite a bit now even though it’s been a week plus… my she’s growing real fast!
XOXO
Jess

Isn’t she absolutely adorable? She’s been staying with me for a week, and I just heard her 1st bark TODAY!!! Felt like a parent hearing their kids’ first word!
